On the left: Cutting tatami mat in Melbourne, Australia (2012)
In the centre: Tatami cutting with some amazing Australian-made swords, by master craftsman Michael Fetcher (rip 2020) Adelaide. I would happily put these swords up against any sword made in Japan, USA, or anywhere else in the world. They are that well made. That well-balanced. That good.
They cut like a hot knife through butter. These swords, made by Michael Fetchner, are my treasured possessions.
On the right: Demonstration at Terumo Jinja (Lord Kuroda's shrine in Fukuoka, Japan).
...............
Paul Sensei is wearing his formal Hakama wear at the Terumo Jinja demonstration.
You will notice that he bares the Araki family Mon (family crest) on his Dogi. Paul Sensei's wife was Japanese. Her Grandfather gave his permission, and blessing, for Paul Sensei to wear the Araki family Mon.
He was very happy for Paul Sensei to wear the Mon, as he only had three daughters, and thought his family Mon would end with him.
Paul Sensei wears the Araki family Mon with great pride, and honour, also in remembrance of the passing of his wife's grandfather, a great man.
...............
An old aikido video, below, from Melbourne (Australia) in the 1990's.
I believe that I have evolved even more, since way back then.
If you stop evolving/learning/constantly seeking more, then you are missing out on so much.
Never stop constantly seeking more.
There are more recent (but still dated) video on YouTube, with more up to date ones to come over time.
Just type in Aikido Alliance Australia to find them.
