Kamachi Genzaburo Shigenami Soke taught Kuroda Han Yagyu Shinkage-Ryu for 56 years in Japan, as the headmaster of the sword school, and had Dojos spread all throughout Japan.

Kamachi Genzaburo Shigenami Soke was given official acknowledgement and recognition of his direct lineage to the very beginnings of the style over 600 years ago, by Hirasawa Sarutobi Kage-Ryu, ( Headmaster of the Kage-Ryu sword school), which is the sword style that Yagyu Shinkage-Ryu originated from.

Kamachi Genzaburo Shigenami Soke was the sole person responsible for formalising all the Waza (kata) forms that Kuroda Han Yagyu Shinkage-Ryu Heiho Aratsu-Kai uses today.

Kuroda Han Yagyu Shinkage-Ryu Heiho Aratsu-Kai Hombu is situated at the Terumo Jinja (shrine) located at 13-1, Chuo-Ku, Fukuoka Nishikoen.
Terumo Jinja has always been connected with Yagyu Shinkage-Ryu and Lord Kuroda, the Lord of Fukuoka since back in the fuedal times of the Samurai.
Terumo Jinja has been moved 3 times, since it was first built within the walls of Fukuoka Castle.
