Focusing on traditional Japanese swordsmanship, and Aikido.
"We cannot fully learn/understand/comprehend an Eastern art, by using Western thinking."
Non-Japanese have been typically raised with physical, "strength against strength", methodologies.
The Japanese, who were quite small in stature, especially during the "samurai" era, learnt to utilise natural organic power, generated by utilising the whole body (mind, body, spirit methodology).
Two completely different/opposite/opposing methods, thinking, and ways.

A 600-year-old traditional Japanese sword style, with a well-documented, and highly respected history.
This sword style, was chosen, by the last 3 Shogun (Warlord) of Japan, as the number 1 style, above all others.

Over 40 plus years of martial art experience, living and training around the world.
Including10 years living, working, and studying Aikido, and sword, in Japan.

A rare opportunity for individuals, Dojos, groups, organisations, worldwide, who are interested in studying traditional Japanese sword.
I am currently looking at a way to introduce my 600-year-old traditional Japanese sword style to all interested martial art groups, bodies, and organisations worldwide. I am looking at a win/win scenario, so that both parties immediately benefit financially from the opportunity. I am offering, to vetted groups and organisations, the opportunity to introduce traditional Japanese sword study to their members, as an additional course of study. I envisage all parties, working together towards a common goal, benefiting financially from the very start.
Where, in the martial art world, is that currently being done, or is on offer, I ask?
Usually, you have to go through years of study, where you pay regularly to the instructor, before you are ranked to a level deemed capable of instructing others yourself, and then charging a fee? I am offering this from the very beginning to all participating groups, bodies, and organisations.
I have built up a long-distance study course, that can be utilised, no matter where in the world you reside. I will then visit, from time to time, to instruct, review, and polish your progress, and to oversee the ranking applications and exams.
As a Shihan of this particular sword style, and holder of the traditional Kaiden Menkyo (traditional sword teaching license), I can instruct, teach, and rank all of my students. For, after all, the sword played an important part in the hand-to-hand skills of the Samurai warrior. The hand / body / footwork is basically the same, with or without a sword. Study of the sword will only add to, sharpen, and hone the hand / body / footwork that you currently utilise.
Interested Dojo, groups, bodies, organisations should send me a message, and we can then discuss the finer details, and work towards building a mutually beneficial partnership. I look forward to your collaboration / participation / partnership in this wonderful opportunity to study a traditional 600-year-old Japanese sword style.
Enjoy the life-journey

I had had an extremely rare opportunity, that I do not believe that I will ever see being repeated in my lifetime.
Because I was married to a Japanese woman. Due to her being fluent in both English and Japanese, I had my very own permanent translator, 24/7, wherever I went. Because we decided to leave Australia, and live in Japan, for 10 years.
I then became a permanent resident of Japan (Eijuken arimashitta).
I was also a Bokushi (A priest. A highly respected position within Japan), a licensed Pastor, who performed wedding ceremonies.
Because my Japanese wife's family had a close family friend, Yamamoto San, who also happened to be a very high ranking instructor in a 600-year-old traditional Japanese sword style, with a very well documented and highly distinguished history. Because Yamamoto Sensei personally introduced me to the Headmaster (Soke) of the sword school, and personally vouched for my integrity, honour, and good standing. bBecause Yamamoto Sensei took full responsibility, and freely accepted any punishment, for anything that I did wrong. I was allowed to join this rare sword style, and was permitted to study for many years under the watchful eyes of the senior instructors.
.
It is exceptionally rare for any non-Japanese to be given this access, training, privilege and honour.
I wish to express my deepest thanks and gratitude to Yamamoto Sensei.
For without his intervention, introduction, and personal guarantee, I would never had had the opportunity to study this amazing sword style.

"You are not just learning how to use a sword in this sword school.
You are studying the exact same way that they have taught this sword style for over 600 years.
Learning deep breathing meditative exercises, moving body feet hands and sword as one co-hesive unit, keeping everything centred and relaxed. Learning how to use your body as a spring, a flowing river. Learning to focus, to breath properly as you move and cut, and eventually the "no mind" occurs.
You are studying exactly how the Samurai warrior studied all those centuries ago.
Honour, loyalty, integrity, proper manner, respect, and etiquette, are paramount.
That is the profound difference between studying a traditional Japanese sword style, and studying Iaido or Kendo (the modern day equivalent)."

The movements and techniques of this traditional Japanese sword style can do nothing but enhance, and polish, whatever martial art that you study. For the movements to evade and counter with the sword, are still very relevant in today's society. People still get attacked, and sometimes with weapons.

"Study of the above sword style has greatly influenced and enhanced my deeper understanding of Aikido methods, movements and techniques.
O-Sensei also studied Yagyu Shinkage-Ryu (revealed by Stanley Pranin, the late Editor of Aikido Journal), as he morphed the Takeda Family Ju-Jutsu into the modern day Aikido that we all know today. I highly recommend the study of the same sword style that O-Sensei studied, to help aikidoka worldwide gain a deeper insight into the art of Aikido."

There will always be a difference between an instructor who has lived and studied for many years in Japan, and an instructor who hasn’t.
For immersion into any culture, by living and socialising amongst the people for many years, will always give a greater insight into their specific martial art.
……….
Bookings can be made, both nationally and internationally, for sword seminars, sword sessions (groups, Dojo, and private sessions), and also for Aikido.
